Pre-offshore Survival Course

The Pre-Offshore Survival Course, is a designed for aquaphobics, non-swimmers or weak swimmers considering a career in the oil and gas industry who are nervous about taking the first step to booking a BOSIET (Also referred to as RGIT). It is also designed for industry workers renewing their BOSIET which is required for renewal every 4 years.

Many prospective offshore professionals book the BOSIET course with a fully accredited and approved OPITO Training Centre and pay the best part of  £1000 but change their mind at the very last moment due to confidence issues and fear of the unknown. Remember that the training centre itself wants you to pass as the more industry professionals they have to be able to provide the oil & gas sector the better.

The Pre-Offshore Survival Course is designed to help alleviate any concerns and anxieties of the water based element to the course prior to entry of the training centre. The Pre-Offshore Survival Course is held in a personal controlled environment and help give the candidate a better understanding of what to expect once they enter the approved training centre pool (Tank) with regards to (HUET) Helicopter Underwater Escape Training & (CA-EBS) Compress Air Emergency Breathing System etc.

You will also be learning skills that will stay with you the rest of your life and the course itself will encourage you to not also keep up water based activities but learn to swim correctly.

I have an offshore helicopter escape test coming up, hadn't been in a swimming pool for over 20 years and really didn't fancy my chances passing. 4 days in the water with Ian and he got me from not wanting to even put my face in the water to jumping in at the deep end, actually swimming lengths and even doing somersaults under water! I'm absolutely amazed and so is everybody who knows me - getting me swimming is a feat equal to getting fish up, out of the water and walking about on dry land! I can't recommend Ian strongly enough!
